About this printable
A colouring page is the calmest way to keep a letter in front of a child for twenty minutes, and these alphabet colouring pages make that time do some teaching as well. Every page carries one giant hollow letter, a keyword picture chosen for its starting sound, the uppercase and lowercase forms side by side, and a dotted version of the letter to trace once the crayons are put down. It suits a letter of the week programme, an early finisher tray, or a quiet after lunch slot.
The 32 pages hold all 26 letters plus six extras: a full alphabet poster, two vowel focus pages, a beginning sound sorting page and two blank letter frames where a child designs a letter and picks the picture. Plain paper is fine for worksheets; use 160-300 gsm card for anything you plan to cut out, and laminate or slide pages into a wallet when they need to survive a dry-wipe pen.

Do flashcards need special paper?
