Licence terms: what you can and cannot do

The plain English version. You bought the right to print the files and use them yourself. You did not buy the right to resell them or share them. Print as much as you like for your own family or your own classroom, and keep the file to yourself. Everything below is that same idea, spelled out.

These terms cover every product on the site and apply from the moment you download. They are written to be read by a normal person, not by a lawyer, and we have tried to say what we actually mean. If a use you have in mind is not covered here, the last section tells you how to ask.

The licence is granted to one buyer: you, or the single classroom or household you bought for. It has no expiry date. Nothing in it asks you to pay again later.

You may

Print unlimited copies for your own family, at home, for as long as you like.
Use the files with your own students, in one classroom.
Take the file to a local print shop or an online printer and have your copies printed there.
Use the finished printed pages with your own children or your own students.
Keep a backup of the file on your own device or your own private cloud storage.

You may not

Resell, share, email or upload the files, in whole or in part, edited or unedited.
Put the files on a shared drive, a school network or any site other people can download from.
Claim the designs as your own work, or change them slightly and present them as new.
Include the files in a paid product, course, membership, subscription or bundle.
Sell copies of the pages themselves, digital or printed.

The short test: are you making copies for people you teach or live with, or are you passing the file on? The first is what you paid for. The second is not.

Extended licence for design assets

This section applies only to products in the Design Assets for Creators category.

People buy cut files, clipart and presets in order to make things, so those products carry a wider licence than the printables do. If you bought an SVG cut file, clipart, a Lightroom preset, an editable template, a background pack or a Notion kit from Design Assets for Creators, this is the section that governs your work.

Sell physical items you make yourself with the files: shirts, mugs, tote bags, signs, cards, decals, framed prints and the like.
Sell them wherever you sell: a market stall, a craft fair, your own shop, or a marketplace such as Etsy.
Make items to order for paying clients, as long as you are the one making them.
Make as many physical items from a design as you like - there is no unit limit.

What never changes is the file itself. You may not resell, share or give away the digital file, and that includes selling it inside a digital bundle or asset pack, offering it as a free download to attract followers or subscribers, and selling a lightly changed version as your own digital product. The rule is short: you sell the thing you made, never the file we made.

Two things this licence does not cover. You may not register a design from these packs as a trade mark, because the same files are sold to other people. And you may not sell the files themselves in any form. Anything else you make and sell is yours.

Teachers and schools

One purchase covers one teacher and one classroom.

Within that classroom the licence is generous, because that is how a teacher actually works.

Print a copy for every child in your class, as often as you need.
Use the same pack again with your classes in later years.
Keep a copy in your own planning folder and print from it whenever you teach the topic.
Use the pages in small groups, cover lessons or intervention sessions that you teach.

What one purchase does not cover is a department, a year group or a whole school. If a colleague wants the same pack, either buy a second copy or ask us for a multi-teacher licence, which usually works out cheaper.

How a school buys a multi-teacher licence

Email us with the school name, the pack or packs you want, and the number of teachers who will use them. We will send back a price and a written licence naming the school, which you can pass to whoever raises the purchase order. We can issue an invoice if your school needs one for its records.

Please do not put our files on a school shared drive, a VLE or a class page in a way that lets pupils or other staff download the original file. Handing out printed pages is exactly what the licence is for. If you need to send pages to pupils working at home, email us first and we will tell you what is allowed for that particular pack, in writing, so you have something to show if anyone asks.

Who owns the designs, and what that means for you.

Every design, illustration, layout and file on this site remains the property of WorksheetJar. Buying a product gives you the licence set out on this page. It does not transfer the copyright, and it does not make you the owner of the design.

We may improve, replace or withdraw a product at any time. If a file is updated after you bought it, your licence covers the newer version as well. Contact us with your order number and we will send it to you.

Nothing on this page takes away rights you have under the law where you live. Our terms of service and refund policy set out the rest of the agreement between us.

If you come across our files being shared or sold somewhere they should not be, please tell us. We will ask for them to be taken down, and we are grateful every time somebody points it out.

If you are not sure, ask

A licence is only useful when it is clear. If you have a use in mind and cannot tell from this page whether it is allowed, ask before you start rather than afterwards. Tell us which product it is and what you want to do with it, and you will get a straight yes or no, in writing if you need something to show a school, a client or a marketplace.

We would far rather answer a question than see someone get it wrong by accident.
