About this printable

Place value is the idea that where a digit sits changes what it is worth, and almost every later mistake in column arithmetic traces back to it not being secure. These sheets build it slowly, starting with bundles of ten and single units drawn as blocks the child can count.

From there the pages move to partitioning a two digit number into tens and units, writing numbers in expanded form, comparing numbers with more than and less than, and finally the same work with hundreds. A place value chart and a set of digit cards are included to cut out and use on the table.
