About this printable

Handling money is one of the few bits of school maths a child uses the same week they learn it. These sheets start with recognising and sorting coins, then counting a handful, then making a given amount in more than one way, and finally working out change from a note.

A printable shop is included: price labels, play notes and coins, and a receipt pad, so the arithmetic gets practised as a game rather than a worksheet. The word problems use everyday shopping situations rather than abstract sums.
