About this printable
This Diwali activity pack gives children something to make and think about during the festival rather than only something to colour. It works at home in the days before Diwali, and in a classroom where a teacher wants a respectful, hands on way to introduce the festival to a mixed group.
The 38 pages open with rangoli pattern sheets that start as simple symmetry practice and build to full circular designs children can fill with pencil, paint or coloured rice. From there the pack moves through diya and lantern colouring pages, a paper diya craft template, mehndi style hand patterns, a matching sheet for festival vocabulary, two word searches, a maze, and writing frames where a child can record what their family does each day of the festival. Plain paper is fine for worksheets; use 160-300 gsm card for anything you plan to cut out, and laminate or slide pages into a wallet when they need to survive a dry-wipe pen.
