About this printable
Counting only works when a child touches one object per number said, and that one to one habit is what these counting worksheets build before anything else. Objects on every page are laid out in a straight line at first, then in rows, then scattered, because a scattered arrangement is far harder and children who can only count neat rows get caught out later. The pack fits nursery, reception and kindergarten, plus any home routine that needs a five minute maths page.
The 36 pages move through four task types. Count and colour asks for that many objects to be coloured in a larger group, which stops a child colouring everything. Count and write pairs a picture set with a box for the numeral. Count and circle asks for the correct number out of three options, which suits children who cannot yet write digits. Count and draw reverses the task: the numeral is given and the child draws that many. Themed sets cover farm animals, fruit, transport, sea life and the seasons, so the same skill can be revisited without repeating a page.
